i actualy lived with the idea my drive was broken, and now i have i functional cd drive in my macbook again!even after 3 years this is the best solution ever! Select your Mac OS X startup disk. If this isn't successful, eject and reinsert the disc several times. People here the details about Apple repairs in UK check out the information it may be useful for you. Just did it and now my Drive is back to it's old self (2004 old self) again!

Show this post ^ you have the same spec as mine? loukashI don't think it pays for me trying to fix things myself. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it works GREAT. Don't buy/use a cleaning disk if you have a slot loading laptop...
