Motherboard Pci Slots Not Working


When I turned on my computer, it recognized the wireless card, but it wasn't working (It didn't show up in network connections) . Ever since then my PCI slots have acted strange. This is done by pressing F6 while the install CD is booting. Pci Slot Stopped Working

I can't get a fan positioned to blow cool air on to it though. When XP loaded, it detected the WD hard drive in the Safely Remove Hardware" window with a question mark beside it, and in device manager it was under "Other Devices" with Ive heard to try updating bios but no one is reporting any luck with that either. solved upgrading from nvidia 660 to 1070, will the card work in the same PCI slot solved CAN PCI 2.0 CARD (gpu) WORK IN PCI 3.0 SLOT PCI-E slot not working

You can disable RAID if you want. There's always the possibility of something shorting out that can be remedied by a complete reinstall. You can check with the chipset makers (Realtek, nVidia, etc.) or driver download sites for the latest ones.

It will also indicate which rails are in or out of tolerance. Also note on the very few occasions i do get it working. I never had a problem installing XP in the past. Seeing as how windows isn't detecting any new hardware placed in the pci slot would a bios update make a difference?

My only idea is either the slot doesn't work/fried.
