I'm about to swap all the fuses and see what happens. Use a small metric wrench to loosen the fitting that connects the cable to the hub. The goop is between the top plate in the following pic and the larger diameter shaft insert between the spring and the top plate. navigate here but they both work fine... What I found was at the driven end, at the wheel, the square end was a bit rounded and wouldn't fully engage the socket it sits in. Mine goes on and off. Odometer Repair Cost

That would pretty much be the only reason it will not work. Honda clamps the cables out of the way for this reason. POHIAN KHOUW/Demand Media Step 7Inspect the back of the speedometer dial and the speedometer gears. I'm guessing that odo isn't working becuase of the speedo.
