I'm back in business! Windows Vista Stuck On Checking For Updates I was advised by Secunia PSI to upgrade to the next version, and that solved almost ALL my problems!! Windows Update Troubleshooter Vista Windows 7 UltimateSP1 64bit, installed March 2016.

Method 2 didn't work even though I was logged on as admin, I still couldn't get around deleting or renaming the folder. It showed error again but after about 1 minute, it started updating automatically. Thanks. have a peek here I will post back to report the results when it gets here.
