I’m not sure on the details of this, but it probably has something to do with the audio codec configuration and sound compatibility with HDMI. It's just a hassle to have to keep turning the TV on and off just to get the sound to work. The only fix I found was to start the film you want to watch and go into the picture mode from the TV menu, and change the picture from standard to I am using a dynex HDMI 6′ cable.
